Freshness - Elizabeth's Garden uses the freshest flowers & foliage available for the highest quality flowers, which will last longer in your home. The foliage is shipped the day it is picked so all will be in pristine condition when it arrives. Our holiday foliage has no pesticides, so you don’t have to worry about that being an issue for you.
Hydrate - For arrangements, you will want to soak your freshly cut greenery long and well before you use it. To do this, submerging the entire branches, if possible, underwater is preferred.
Cut Properly - Cut the stems on a slant, with clean, sharp snips or a knife after the stems are fully hydrated.
Keep Cool - Keeping fresh-cut greenery away from heat sources is important. You will want to keep it away from the fireplace, heater vents, or sunny windows. For best results when you use your fresh Christmas greenery on the fireplace, keep it at a distance from the fire. In addition, the heat of the fire will make your greenery brittle, so be aware of this factor when arranging your decorations.
Mist Often - One of the most crucial things to remember is that wreaths, garlands, swags, and even vessel arrangements like to have a mist of moisture. The more you water your fresh-cut greenery, the longer it will last. To make sure your fresh-cut holiday greenery is properly hydrated, lightly mist it with water every few days. This will not only replenish moisture, but it will also help keep your greens fragrant for longer.
Add Water Daily -Fresh-cut greenery requires plenty of water. Make sure to use clean water and add some fresh every day if you are putting it in a vessel.
